There are many counselling modalities, and knowing which to choose can be a challenge.

The type of counselling I offer is called 'Psychodynamic' counselling. Put simply, this means we think about your current situation, your past experiences and the counselling relationship to understand more about the root cause of unhappiness or distress. We also uncover feelings that have thus far been hidden to us, offering us a new or different perspective. This insight can enable change and leave behind old patterns of behaving that are no longer helpful to us.

It may be helpful to know that studies have shown that 'a good fit' between counsellor and client has the greatest impact, regardless of modality. Psychodynamic counselling has this relationship at the centre of the work.
